Removals are an unavoidably carbon-heavy industry — but they don't have to be wasteful. Here's how we're working to make Blue Sky one of London's lower-impact movers.
Reusable crates over cardboard
On office and larger home moves we default to plastic crate hire — washed, returned and re-used hundreds of times — rather than single-use cartons. Where cartons are needed, we use recycled-content double-walled boxes and collect them back for re-use after every unpack.
Cleaner vehicles, smarter routes
Our Luton fleet is renewed on a 5-year cycle to keep emissions to current standards, and every move is route-optimised against London's ULEZ and CCZ. We're trialling electric panel vans for short-haul central London jobs.
Furniture given a second life
Unwanted furniture is donated through our partnerships with London-based reuse charities rather than going to landfill. On request, we'll arrange collection on move day at no extra cost.
