What drives the price

Six things that move a London quote up or down

01

Property size and volume

The single biggest factor. We price by cubic feet on the van, not by the room count alone — a maximalist 2-bed can load heavier than a sparse 3-bed.

02

Access at both ends

Lifts vs. stairs, distance from the van to the door, narrow Victorian staircases, lift bookings in mansion blocks — all add crew hours.

03

London parking

Red routes, CPZ bays and no-loading windows often need a paid suspension. Walking distance from a legal parking spot adds time.

04

Day and date

Last Friday of the month and end-of-tenancy dates carry a premium. Mid-week, mid-month moves are typically 10–20% cheaper.

05

Packing and materials

DIY-packing saves money but adds risk; a professional pack is usually the difference between a 7-hour and a 10-hour move day.

06

Distance and ULEZ

Within the M25 most moves are priced as a single day. Long-distance and out-of-London jobs add fuel, mileage and sometimes an overnight.

FAQ

London removal cost questions, answered

How much does a 2-bedroom flat removal cost in London?+

Most 2-bed flat moves within London land between £520 and £850 with a 2–3 person crew and a Luton van. Top of that range usually means stairs at both ends, a packing service, or a Friday/end-of-month date.

How much does a 3-bedroom house removal cost in London?+

Expect £950–£1,450 for a typical 3-bed in London, rising to £1,250–£1,850 for a large 3-bed with garage, loft and garden contents. Add £280–£600 if you want us to pack for you.

Are removal companies in London cheaper on weekdays?+

Yes. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mid-month are typically 10–20% cheaper than the last Friday of the month, which is the busiest moving day in the UK.

Do you charge by the hour or fixed price?+

We quote a fixed price for the move after a free video or in-person survey. No hourly creep, no 'parking surprises' on the day — the number on your quote is the number on your invoice.

What about parking, permits and congestion charges?+

We arrange parking bay suspensions where needed (£50–£180 per bay) and pass through any ULEZ or Congestion Charge at cost. Both are itemised on the quote — never hidden.

How can I bring the cost of my London move down?+

Book mid-week, mid-month if you can; declutter before the survey (skip-runs are free in our quote tool); pack non-fragile items yourself; and book 3+ weeks ahead to avoid short-notice premium slots.

Is insurance included in the price?+

Yes. Every move includes goods-in-transit and public liability cover as standard. Higher-value items (art, antiques, instruments) can be added to an enhanced policy at survey.

Do you offer free surveys?+

Yes — video survey or in-person, both free, both produce a fixed-price written quote. We do not take deposits to quote.
